The Sims 4 is finally taking the party to your television. After a seven-year absence from consoles, EA announced that The Sims 4 is coming to Xbox One, and, after some confusion, clarified that the game is on its way to the PS4 as well. No other details or reason for skipping the Nintendo Switch were given, because there isn't any reason to skip the Switch at this point. The Sims 4 is not a technically or graphically intensive game – pretty much any semi-decent computer can run it, and the Switch should have no problem with it. You also can't tell me The Sims 4 wouldn't be suited to the Switch – The Sims on the go would be great! No, it seems The Sims 4 isn't coming to the Nintendo Switch, just because.
Of course, The Sims 4 could still come out on Switch somewhere down the line, but this kind of second-class treatment is no longer justifiable. Yes, some games simply won't run on the Switch's less powerful hardware, but, when possible, third party games should launch on Switch alongside the Xbox One and PS4 versions. The system is a success, and third-party games are selling on it. Time to get on board, publishers.
