Is the person who write the last trivia entry….mentally challenged or something? I corrected it now, but until now it said 'The game travels back in time' if you do not click Save & Quit. Either that was a kid trying to contribute or really someone who has problems.
Play Demo mode from launcher[edit]
Is there a way to play demo mode from launcher on an already paid for account? The page says we can use the -demo flag, but that doesn't seem to work. I don't know anything about JVM Arguments. I know I can play the demo online, but I am wanting to play around with launcher in demo mode. Laige (talk) 19:53, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
- Make a new OS shortcut and add the parameter. Note that it has two (2) dashes. Any profile then launched withing the launcher will be in demo mode. MakakiSDQ (talk) 15:13, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
Demo not working.help please?[edit]
Anyone know why the demo mode isn't working? I'm liking what I've seen of the game in videos and thinking about buying it, but would just like to try it to see if it plays as cool as it looks.
Stream the sims 4. I did all 3 steps outlined on the minecraft site, created an account, downloaded the (very small) .exe file, and logged into it, clicking 'Play Demo' when it came back with the 'Not Premium Member' message (because, naturally, I'm not a paying customer yet). Family feud game for two players. Popcap games feeding frenzy online.
I'm doing this on a PC, and my system meets all the specifications listed for running this game.
Right when I click 'Play Demo' another popup window appears saying 'Updating Minecraft' and below that immediately 'Done loading' with a progress bar that right from the getgo shows about 95% complete/green, but never goes that last 5% or so to 100% full. And nothing happens from there, ever. On repeated attempts.
Minecraft Pc Gamer Demo Unlimited Time Download
It looks like from this actual page on the wiki that this demo might be very new and just implemented as of August 1st, 2012. If anyone knows how to contact or notify the creators/distributors of the game itself of this bug, that'd be appreciated on both ends I'm sure (I can't find any contact info on the site or any way of reporting problems.)
And otherwise any tips anyone might have to help get the demo actually working would be much appreciated. Thanks!
(I posted about this on the minecraft forums, under the Support section, in the Minecraft Game Client subsection. But there are so many posts there about so many topics far beyond the demo stage, plus at least one other post I saw about problems with the demo, which had no responses, so I'm guessing it might get lost in the shuffle.) 97.120.64.157 18:33, 5 August 2012 (UTC) AviKyz (also my user/display name on the minecraft forums and, whenever I actually get to play it, in the game itself)
- You may report such bugs in the Known bugs page. Talk pages should be only used to discuss changes pertaining to its associated article. A quick Google search came up with the solution of erasing your .minecraft folder. Hope that helps. Hower64 06:58, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- I have created a section specifically for reporting bugs with the Demo version at [[MCW:Issues/Version 1.3.1#Demo version]] and have moved an existing report there. -Aurelius 20:12, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
The demo's one piece of trivia is flawed[edit]
The trivia for the demo has only one line and its claim is flawed. By using a payed account it defeats the entire purpose of this 'glitch', and serves only as a filler. If no real trivia can be provided, it should be omitted. (Just reviewed what it said. It's just a way to make the demo last forever if for no other purpose. Still seems pointless though.)–Preceding unsigned comment was added by Somerandomguyb4time (talk • contribs) at 13:04, 11 August 2012 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- I agree, and have removed that section. -Aurelius 20:21, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
- Cycloneblaze re-added it since it seems like Jeb acknowledged this 'exploit'. --M0rphzone(talk) (*How to remove sidebar*) 22:21, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
Something seems to be wrong with the Restrictions section, I found an abandoned mineshaft and a dungeon.[edit]
I loaded up a demo game (I haven't bought Minecraft yet, but I love the game anyways) and started searching around and I found a ravine, and started exploring. Even though the Restrictions section of the article says 'Generated Structures' is turned off, I found some abandoned mineshafts and a dungeon in a few cave systems. Is the article wrong, or is it a glitch?
- It means you can't choose whether they're on or off. They're always on. HotdogPi ⑬㊲ 02:45, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
Infinite demo time glitch?[edit]
I started my demo in browser and everything went as it should with the timer counting down from 100 minutes. But I then downloaded the demo (to see if I could get a better frame rate) and I have found I can now play without the time limit and create multiple different worlds of any seed and in creative or hardcore mode. I stumbled across this when I entered my password wrong when logging in on the downloaded demo, the game told me the password was not recognized and gave me the option to play offline. I can do this every time, and it seems to be giving me access to far more than the demo is meant to.
Is this a known glitch?89.168.181.145 19:50, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

The trivia section is full of garbage[edit]
The trivia section has 9 entries and 5 of them are about the coordinates of pointless landmarks and structures. I can understand why someone would give the coordinates to a Stronghold, but to underwater caves and emerald ore, seriously? This trend has been going on for too long now and must stop. People should not submit things under the trivia category if it's not trivia. Valvetine 20:13, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, I noticed it was getting a little crazy there too. I think that it should all go on another page - maybe a sub-page of this one perhaps. Firebastard 00:15, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
- I somewhat disagree. While it is getting a bit disorganized, I feel that documenting the landscape of a world that does not change is worthy enough. We should remove them from the trivia, but perhaps we shift such info into it's own section, or maybe even a tutorial?

00:18, 4 July 2013 (UTC)- Okay, I just moved all of the coordinates from the trivia section into its own section where users can post locations of landmarks. Hopefully the section won't get removed any time soon. Valvetine 01:33, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Landscape?[edit]
Screen capture in macbook air. This section may grow infinitely, it is possible that we need to restrict what may be added and remove all bad entries (there are 43 at the moment). Suggestions:
- Only notable markers (villages, rare biomes, dungeons and strongholds; I may have missed something).
- Only within certain distance from (0; 0).
--GreenStone (0x54; 0x43) 19:50, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- That right there is my bad, I completely forgot to add guidelines when I created that category. I just removed some of the unnecessary posts and added a small set of rules to hamper the size of that section. Valvetine 17:22, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
I'm inclined to limit it to features within 1000 blocks of the spawn point, excpeting only strongholds (since there are just three) and mushroom islands (since there aren't any that close to spawn). Dungeons are fairly common, we don't need 25 of them listed. -- Orthotopetalk 02:49, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
Organizing[edit]
Shall we organize the landscape section (eg. villages: mineshafts: strongholds: dungeons: temples: wells and huts: other: Aleksi2000 (talk) 15:27, 22 November 2013 (UTC)
- How about putting them in Tutorials? This is supposed to be an article, not just a place to show off map structures. ExtremeHeat11 (talk) 02:49, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Check out a guide that I started at User:Synco123/Demo structures. Feel free to expand/improve it. Maybe it can be moved to tutorials after it has been developed a bit more. User:Synco123 'Synco' (talk) 19:17, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

Saving My Demo[edit]
Minecraft Pc Gamer Demo Unlimited Time Games
I created this really cool parkour course on my demo, but if I reset it, does that mean i can't get it back when I get my Minecraft account since the seed is the same?(Sorry I'm not logged in at the moment) –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.251.171.47 (talk) at 16:56, 21 June 2014 (UTC). - If you press reset, it will be deleted and all your previous builds would be lost. If you suppress the deletion, you can still play the world when you buy the game. --KnightMiner(t|c) 18:44, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
Re-download demo world?[edit]
I am a paid mc user (mojang account, not premium) and i was wondering if i could somehow re-download the world (my computer with all my saves got stolen :'( and just seeing the locations page made me wanna try again (i made my house out of dirt and wood trunk blocks, died in lava and was sad when they didnt put my items in my chest, lol). Is that possible, or would i have to use the seed, and would that seed be different? I had also seen the previous mc wiki article mentioning the Stampylonghead references, as well as the 'tower of pimps'? just lookin for a bit of nostalgia xD -- Lightningtow (talk) 01:26, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
- You can use the same seed and get the demo world in the full version, without the timer though. The Tower of Pimps was in an old Console Edition tutorial world, the PC demo world has no special features, only standard structures. - Luke18033 (talk) 15:15, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
What that means?[edit]
Ok i've read in the trivia that you can play the premium version if the demo is played prior to 1.3 how can you do this?
Android Trial[edit]
Under 'History', it states that there is an android trial. Does anyone know where I can find it? --LuigiSauce (talk) 20:56, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
